Pousada Guarana a place of quiet and beauty

For the past ten years we have worked hard to create a place for our guests to get away from the stresses of daily life. For others, to have a place to relax and recharge after visiting the mega-cities of Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.

Our hotel fits perfectly for couples, small groups of friends and honeymooners. Here you will find many quiet corners to chat, read or relax at the pool surrounded by lush gardens and vibrant colored hummingbirds. Or perhaps, take a dip in the pool, get an in-house massage or meditate in our yoga room. There will likely be a furry friend to keep you company as well should you desire.

We want our guests to have the best experience possible, and we are here to help as much as you need.

Important things to know about our hotel

As we cater mainly to couples and honeymooners, the age of all children must be a minimum of 16 years or older.

We are supporters of the local animal welfare groups of Paraty and have a number of friendly rescues that reside on the premisis. We can not however accommodate guests traveling with pets of their own, but we will gladly give great recommendations for places that do.

All our rooms including their garden patio and all guest common areas are designated non-smoking. We do provide an outdoor smoking lounge area where smoking is allowed.

Our hotel is located about 1 km (1/2 mile) from the historic center of Paraty. This is a 20-25min walk or 5min bike ride.

We serve an ovo-lacto vegetarian breakfast. Vegan options are available on request.

Local Attractions

The coastline of the Costa Verde (Green Coast) is lined with beautiful beaches for swimming, surfing or culinary delights.
Historically important to this region was the sugarcane trade. With this came the distilleries of the national spirit Cachaca. Paraty has some of the best to offer and many of the distilleries can be visited for tastings.
The nearby rainforest has a number of beautiful waterfalls to visit. Some with large natural swimming pools and one with a giant slide rock that the locals "surf".
